“When matters of great moment are inquired into by men of little ability, they usually make them men of great ability.”

We are called to be women. The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian does make me a different kind of woman. For I have accepted God's idea of me, and my whole life is an offering back to Him of all that I am and all that He wants me to be. ~Elisabeth Elliot

The theme of my page is one point from a bible text, Philippians 4:8 "whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things".

Time has just ticked by... almost all my efforts on this site have been in upgrading the various pages that moved here from geocities: the fitness, Bible study, the Childbirth pages, and soon to come, quotations pages. Yahoo geocities has closed down their free hosting. I had been slowly transferring everything here, anyway. where has the time gone, though? I see I haven't put up new articles since 2007.  It was a bit difficult to learn the ropes on some of the new software and RL certainly kept me busy.

Don't forget the time!

The Garden site has taken most of the work and effort to produce a quality site; that, and the fact that social networking is the new thing for communication online. That has been fun to explore, but quite time consuming.

We often speak of being consumers, but how often do we think of that in terms of time? We are all mass consumers of that nonrenewable resource. I will be keeping up with this page more through the year and as its mission takes form in my mind.

Well, how about you? Joined Facebook or Twitter, yet? Facebook has been a good way to keep in touch with family and friends and to reconnect with old acquaintances. Blogging took over from website work for awhile, but now the two are melding; it's funny how the internet has changed over the past ten years. Some things I predicted, but many -like the social networking- came as a complete surprise.

One thing that many like me are realizing is that that Real Life has to take more precedence over time spent in front of a screen. Like TV in many homes, now the computer eats as much time. We all seem to have problems with these virtual eating habits of ours, and like the calorie laden type, this too, needs some discipline and restraint.

The trouble is.... I'm not so good at dieting. I guess I better look at that illustration for a few more minutes.
